The Sexy, Hip, Funky, Feminine, Gorgeous 1970's
Posted on January 26 2016
Like the 1960's, the 70's were just as important when it comes to defining moments of fashion.
Here are some of our favorite style icons and the ultimate risk takers during one of fashion's wildest decades.
SEXY: JERRY HALL
A former roommate of Grace Jones (oh to be a fly on THAT wall) and Mick Jagger's muse, Jerry Hall is the epitome is sexy seventies style and was a regular at Studio 54. While we can't all pull off a lace onesie, I think we can all agree that Jerry Hall is a total babe. Wanna channel Jerry's look? Think plunging everything, luxe fabrics and lots of fur. Oh, and don't forget the giant gold hoops.

HIP: ALI MACGRAW
You wouldn't think Boho and New England prep complement each other, but Ali MacGraw made it happen. Her wardrobe in the classic movie "Love Story" pretty much defined the decade, and her personal style solidified her place in fashion history. Fashion means never having to say you're sorry.

FUNKY: DEBBIE HARRY
Debbie's "Rapture" was the first song that featured rapping to top the charts, and was the first rap video ever broadcast on MTV (back when they still played music videos). How cool is that? What we love best about Debbie is her punk style that was all about the thrift store find.

FEMININE: JACQUELINE BISSET
Jacqueline Bisset would make a paper bag look good. Her signature style was feminine with a tomboy twist. She rocked crochet, lace and all things frilly just as well as a plain white button down. Her style was one of the most envied of the decade.

GORGEOUS: BIANCA JAGGER
The Queen of the Studio 54 scene, Bianca Jagger went from sleek menswear to disco-ready pieces without flinching. She always looked completely glamorous, and managed to stand on her own even though she spent most of the 70's married to the world's most famous rock star.
