The Best of Babylon!

Babylon is a 2 mile long village that can be found on the South Shore of Suffolk County and it’s located in the middle of New York City and the Hamptons. The streets are lined with antique lamp posts and wooden barrels that are always decorated up to par based on the season. The village is best known for our restaurants, bars and mom-and-pop shops along Deer Park Avenue and Main Street.

Glens Dinette, located on Main Street, has everyone raving about their breakfast food.  One of their popular menu items is ‘The Idaho’ which consists of, home fries smothered with bacon, scallions & cheddar cheese, topped with 2 eggs.  They are also known for their banana pecan french toast and their homemade holiday pies. On most days of the week they usually have a full house; especially Sundays. There might be a little bit of a wait, but believe us, the wait is worth it!

Looking for a treat?  Torta Fina is your answer! The shop attracts all coffee and sweet teeth go-ers.  They have one of the best coffees in town and quite a variety of desserts to choose from. They have cake squares, cake pops, brownies, tarts… anything you name, they got it! Their best sellers are their assorted cookie platter (especially for holidays) and their Georgia Maine Tart; a cream cheese based custard topped with fresh Georgia peaches.  They also do specialty cakes for any event you may have.

Down the alley across from Grove Street sits an ever so awesome Mexican restaurant.  Swell taco is always busy, no matter what time of day.  Once you walk into their newly expanded restaurant, you are immediately greeted by a friendly staff member.  They give you chips and salsa to munch on while you are looking over their menu.  Their busiest night of the week is Taco Tuesday; $1 beef and Buffalo chicken tacos- yum!  Swell Taco is all for the local community and helps hosts events whenever possible.  This place is a must.

Happy hour at Molto Vino is like a little taste of Heaven. They host happy hour Monday through Friday from 4pm-7pm which includes $6 glasses of white wine, $7 glasses of red wine and $4 beer. On Mondays they host “Margherita Monday” which is $5 Margherita pizza all day and night- so delicious! Their staff is knowledgeable on their products and really takes their time to cater to your every need. During the warmer months their store front windows open into the street so you can enjoy the warm breeze while drinking wine and eating some cheese. Whether you want to sit out front to ‘people watch’ or have more privacy on their outdoor back patio- this is the perfect place for happy hour.

Monsoon is one of the newer additions into the village. Located in a remodeled historic bank, Monsoon is a trendy Asian fusion lounge with a NYC feel and look. Their most popular drink is the Babylon Express; Crop Cucumber Vodka, St. Germain, pineapple & fresh lime. On Thursdays they have a three course price fixed dinner at $30 ($40 with paired wines and sake), great selection to choose from. On Mondays they have happy hour until 10pm- can’t beat that! They host fashion shows and events there as well. This place will not disappoint.

While enjoying everything Babylon Village has to offer don’t forget to stop at Ooh la la!  Our friendly & helpful staff will show you the current trends and help you create a unique one-of-a-kind outfit.  Although we are a smaller store, we have a ton to offer.  You will not regret shopping with us!
