Weatherproof Your Spring Style
It finally feels like spring has sprung! But you know the saying "April showers bring May flowers”?
Well, it also brings challenges to stay looking fab in the ever-changing weather. These five easy
steps will help weatherproof your look and keep you looking your best. But just remember,
checking the weather will help too!
1. More lip less eye.
Ever get caught in the rain and find your self looking more like a raccoon and less like Rachel McAdams
in The Notebook's infamous kiss scene? You're not the only one. While we can't provide Hollywood lighting,
we can plan ahead. Using waterproof mascara and focusing more on creating a nice lip instead of playing
up the eyes will help prevent any rainy day mishaps, and possible raccoon moments.
2. Beware of puddles.
If you are clumsy like me, just because you see a puddle doesn't mean you won't step in it, so it is best to
be prepared. Rain boots are a fabulous way to weatherproof your look, but if you don't want to spend all day
in rubber boots awaiting the forecasted shower, a cute slip-on sneaker or espadrille with any ankle length jean
is chic, on trend, and perfect for spring.
To get the look, try our Gal's Best Friend Ankle Skinny Jeans - $96
3. A spring jacket.
Although I must admit the minute I see sunshine I am ready for the beach, a light jacket is necessary for spring
months, especially if you are someone who is out all day long. While a raincoat is practical, let’s face it, rubber
is not chic. A trench is perfect, and easy to dress up or down.
Our Jack by BB Dakota Brydon Tan Coat - $80 is a perfect spring layering piece.
4. The go-to.
When spring hits I become just as fickle as Goldilocks was with her porridge. I don’t want to be too hot or
too cold, but I want to be comfy and cute. The Blue Pick Me Freeloader Hoodie - $38 is the perfect go-to for the in-
between weather of spring. It’s light, bright and has a hood. What more could you ask for?
Not into blue? This hoodie is also available in Charcoal, White, Ivory, Oatmeal, Yellow, Mint & Peach.
The possibilities are endless!
5. The necessities.
There are two must-haves for spring: sunscreen and an umbrella. If you are anything like me and have not had
the pleasure of sun-kissed skin since summer, then sunscreen is a necessity. It’s not only important for your health,
but sunburn is never a cute look. April showers will creep up on you when you least expect it so being prepared
with an umbrella is always a good way to handle the tricky weather.
Of course, you're going to need a bag to carry it all in! We are loving the Every Stripe Red Bag - $66.
Also available in Blue & Tan.
And there you have it!
These 5 simple steps will help carry you into the sunny days of May.
I always keep waterproof mascara on me (in case Ryan Gosling wants to make out with me in the rain) !
