Tune in Tuesday: USA! USA! USA!
Posted on July 08 2014
In honor of the Fourth of July and our country’s independence,
I rounded up some of my go-to American songs to listen while cruising the town with my windows down.
"National Anthem" by Lana Del Rey
This all-American beauty’s soulful voice sings about the vintage idea of the American dream, think the Great Gatsby.
Featuring a mini-movie music video inspired by the late JFK and our favorite, Mrs. Jackie O. All I can say is yes, yes, yes.
"American Girl" by Tom Petty
Let’s be serious, this song is contagious, and you can’t help but belt out the lyrics whenever it comes on.
Almost forty years later, this song continues to be one of the best Americana songs to date.
"Made in America" by Toby Keith
This song epitomizes everything American, and who better to sing in than country royalty, Toby Keith.
"Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen
I don’t think you could get more American than Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 hit, Born in the USA, if you tried.
This song oozes red, white, and blue and makes me proud to be an American.
"Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus
What kind of Fourth of July would it be without rocking out to Miley Cyrus’s Party in the USA? This song makes me want to put my hands up, nod my head like yeah and shake my hips like yeah!
"American Baby" by Dave Matthews
Delivered by one of my favorite bands, this song encourages Americans to embrace their patriotism—sing it, Dave, that’s what it’s all about!
