Spring Cleaning 101

Spring Cleaning 101

Step 1 - Empty out your ENTIRE closet.

Step 2 - Separate into 4 piles

Pile 1 - “I love this, and I wear it often.”
Pile 2 - “I want to keep this, but I don’t really know why.”
Pile 3 - “I like this, but it doesn’t fit great and it isn’t really my style anymore.”
Pile 4 - “This has seen better days.”

Step 3 - Be ruthless about your pile's future.

Pile 1 - Hang and put away.

Pile 2 - Ask the following questions: Does it still fit? Have I worn it in the last year?
If I saw it in a store now, would I buy it? Is it still in good condition?

If the answer is yes, it goes in Pile 1.

If the answer is no, it goes in Pile 3.

Pile 3 - Box it up and put it in the back of your closet.

Pile 4 - Donate, or throw away depending on condition.

Step 4 - Revisit pile 3.

If in 30 days you do not wear something from the box, donate the box WITHOUT opening it.
